Facebook hacking charges ‘not retractable’

A man who had pleaded not guilty to hacking into his former girlfriend’s Facebook account and posting that she was a prostitute told the court today he would admit to the charges and apologise if the woman withdrew her complaint.

Lawyer Kenneth Grima, who appeared for the victim, said that an agreement had been reached with Franco Debono, the accused’s lawyer.

But Magistrate Edwina Grima pointed out that none of the charges were retractable and that in the event of an admission she would the apology into consideration.

At this point, Dr Debono asked for the case to be deferred so that he would reconsider his position.

The accused, hotel sales and marketing director Roberto Bruno, 31, of Mosta, also stands charged with driving his BMW dangerously towards the woman in San Ġwann some three weeks ago.

Someone needed to refer to his little black book of loopholes. Perhaps the page which still has the Cyrus Engerer bookmark might help?

Is this for real? The Commissioner of Law Reform, after bargaining with the victim’s lawyer, admitted the charges put against his client. When the magistrate pointed out that she will only consider the apology, Malta’s law expert, Il-Baggio, ran away with his cock which was about to lose the fight.
