If his children wanted to see the sharks, he should have taken them along on a Sunday morning, like other daddies
The prime minister turned up to the opening of the National Aquarium 45 minutes late and with his entire family in tow – because six-year-olds should really be at a night-time drinks party for grown-ups, and then again on a school night.
Do those two Muscats not have a babysitter or nanny? Or are they still using their children as a marketing tool? Or maybe their mother actually thinks it’s as exciting for them as it is for her, which it patently is not, as in every photograph released to the press they look bored, bewildered and mystified.
The prime minister gave his opening speech in a form of English:
“When I was prodded to open the National Aquarium….”.
Prodded?
“I’m here because my children really wanted to see the sharks”.
Well, there were three dogfish right there at the buffet table.

We, the good dogfish of Malta, would object to your cyber-harassment.
Can somebody give me the equivalent in English, please.
Hobz il-biezel kielu l-ghazzien.
Socialism
Min Jaf: you mean, the Maltese interpretation of Socialism.
Your children did not need to leave home to see sharks, Muscat. They live with them.
Attakk fahxi u moqziez fuq it-tfal tal-Prim Ministru.
Chavs all through.
Someone who can’t manage family life can’t possibly lead a country.
The food there is excellent.
… And pricey …
He said he was prodded? Ah, he was there because the children wanted to see the sharks.
And he was 45 minutes late.
So basically I take this as meaning that he did not want to be there. He was not interested in opening the national aquarium, because of course, he cannot allow himself to be publicly associated with it lest someone reminds him that it was funded by the EU. Its a project Made in Brussels, of course.
Now, I hope the whole project will not be allowed to be mismanaged because of that reasoning.
At this point, I am expecting that when the Piano project is due to be inaugurated, he will not only not turn up, but he will make sure to be seen boarding a cruise ship.
Pity that Joseph Muscat’s children did not express a wish to see the victim’s of this week’s tragedy at Lampedusa.
I challenge Joseph Muscat to take his children to Lampedusa to see over one hundred coffins lined up at an airport hangar awaiting burial. That’s a real and proper education.
Do you know that you are being a PEST.
What is the issue behind the fact that the PM took his daughters to see the aquarium?
So WHAT!!
Chavtastic, the lot of them.
But Muscat isn’t any daddy. He’s Malta’s foremost sugar daddy! (Do me favours and I’ll reward you generously)
He would have had to pay the entrance fee.
If Muscat wanted his kids to see sharks, he should have shown them fb mug-shots of some of the recipients of the PL’s ”Order of the Iced- Bun”.
“I’m here because my children really wanted to see the sharks”.
Seems to be implying that had not the “children really wanted to see the sharks” he would have been on time for his appointment.
A good excuse for his (now frequent) late arrivals.
