This family will be Maltese within the next three months. The winner is the one who works out:
1. the number of applicants (those paying Eur650,000 – clue: they are men, but not all the men are applicants);
2. the number of grandparents and in-laws paying Eur50,000;
3. the number of sons and daughters of applicants who are over 25 and paying Eur50,000;
4. the number of sons and daughters of applicants who are under 25 and paying Eur25,000;
5. the number of women who are paying the spouse rate of Eur25,000 (but who are not grandparents or in-laws).
I’m sure I’ve left something out – never mind, you know what to do.

The calculation is a simple one.
Whip out your tape measure, find the length and breadth of your mattress, and multiply. The answer gives you the number of euros “injected” into the Maltese economy, in billions. Centimetres or inches – it doesn’t matter. Nothing else matters.
Second prize should be two suppers.

Perhaps Manwel, as an incentive, will only process 60 main applicants at a time, translating to “roughly” 300 passports a go, as per the lead off this picture that matches the stated initial target already covered.
Since it would require 17 such intakes to reach the figure of 5000 passports, and since this is not a nice round figure for monthly accounts, my bet is that the minimum objective is 600 passports a month for a minimum target reached of 10,000 passports a year.
This should eventually give them a very comfortable margin, and eventually is relative in consequence to how much the Maltese electorate allows them to get away with. This could happen sooner, or if pain tolerance levels are high – and they are in Malta because we have already suffered the immunity induction under Mintoff, later.
If this Labour Government lasts for two or three terms, it would have succeeded in changing the base Maltese DNA, as it seems to aspire to, from Phoenician to Chinese etc.
This Labour Government will be into bulk buying all right. Besides Keith Kasco into sugar, the rest will all be needing mattresses and warehouses for these.
For the record, is Keith Kasco also supplying the paper for the passports?

For those who think 650,000 euro is a whole lot of money, place this in the perspective of those people who risk 100,000€ per game of backgammon or even 25,000€ as opening stakes in a poker game.
Or millions of euros over the years backing a Labour Opposition.
Or stashes into the multiple two digit billions of Libyan money.
Or Mugabe’s personal diamond account money passing through Malta.
Or Shiv Nair operating tightly and secretly with Joseph Muscat and partners on behalf of the very well endowed Chinese Government, with additional Somali, Nigerian, Azeri, Georgian interests etc.
Just because Joseph Muscat doesn’t mention him and hasn’t answered the questions, it doesn’t mean that Shiv Nair has ceased to exist.
