La Spia/Italy: “In Italia si litiga sull’accoglienza. A Malta, si vende la cittadinanza e si diventa Europei pagando!”

Migliaia di migranti cercano ventura e sognano una nuova vita, venendo da noi con imbarcazioni di fortuna e sfidando la morte.
Noi li indaghiamo per “immigrazione clandestina” e diventiamo razzisti, c’è chi inneggia all’odio razziale, litighiamo fra noi (basta leggere le discussioni sui social network di questi giorni) e poi c’è chi, a “due passi” da noi, è disposto a vendere la cittadinanza europea.
Si, avete capito bene: vendere. Pagando 650mila euro si potrà, infatti, diventare cittadini maltesi e, di conseguenza, cittadini dell’Unione Europea, accedendo all’area Schengen e beneficiando anche del programma di visti agevolati con gli Stati Uniti, potendo circolare liberamente ovunque in Europa.
Il Parlamento della Valletta ha approvato la legge che consente la ‘vendita’ della cittadinanza ai cittadini extracomunitari, che saranno in grado di versare la somma. Non i “poveri disgraziati” che vengono da noi e che, se in difficoltà nelle acque maltesi, vengono lasciati annegare.
Si, perché i “Cavalieri” di Malta, così bravi a fiutare il business magari di sceicchi ricchissimi, di narcotrafficanti spregiudicati, di scafisti che vogliano garantirsi il “visto” Europeo, non sono altrettanto “Cavalieri”, quando c’è da salvare chi si dispera ed annega.
I media dell’Isola di Malta riferiscono che per il premier, Joseph Muscat, la legge “non solo porterà vantaggi alle casse maltesi, ma attirerà potenziali investitori di alto valore”.
Secondo le prime stime, il Tesoro maltese incasserà 30 milioni di euro solamente nel primo anno, prevedendo che circa 45 persone “acquisteranno” la cittadinanza dell’isola. Ad amministrare il programma, che a regime dovrebbe attrarre tra i 200 e i 300 nuovi cittadini ogni anno, sarà l’amministratore delegato di “Henley and Partners”, Eric Major, che promette “trasparenza” nella gestione.
Ma tranquilli (si fa per dire!), il governo dell’Isola dei Cavalieri ha assicurato che verranno effettuati controlli su quanti faranno richiesta di cittadinanza e che, gli individui con precedenti penali, non verranno accettati. A meno che i 650 mila euro, non crescano di “zeri”.
Eppure c’è chi, come l’opposizione del Partito Nazionalista, non ha escluso una raccolta di firme per indire un referendum abrogativo della nuova legge.
Una legge che potrebbe costar cara alla stessa Malta. È certo che l’Unione Europea non possa sopportare una legge del genere, che rischia di far diventare l’Isola a “due passi da noi” (come afferma il leader dell’opposizione Simon Busuttil), come un “paradiso” dalle regole troppo labili e verosimilmente “sorridenti” a chi più ha.
Cittadini Europei o extracomunitari compresi. Per la serie, a Malta “tutto ha un prezzo”.

I am utterly shocked to say the least at this article, but we did see it coming didn’t we. It was written all over the place.
I cannot come to terms at how many people where gullible enough to believe Joseph Muscat and all his satanic smiles. It used to give me shivers (the wrong sort).
When Dr Lawrence Gonzi said ‘mal-Partit Nazzjonalista tkun kburi li inti Malti u mal-Partit Laburista tisthi tghid li inti Malti’ there were lots of switchers that where splashing him with all names.
This should give the prime Minister lots of sleepless nights and he should consider emigrating to Zimbabwe. I think that would really be a place he’ll be comfortable enough.
A true indictment by our closest neighbour. All the hard work by Lawrence Gonzi to raise the name of, and respect for, Malta thrown into the garbage by Joseph Muscat for whom everyone and everything has a price.
Prime Minister,
Please show us that you are capable of listening to reason and to the opinion of the people you have been elected to lead. Stop this nonsense. In the name of decency, please step back from this obscene decision that is doing untold damage to our country.
In this case, retreat will be proof of strength, not weakness, because it is what the people truly want. Remember that you have been chosen to lead, not to rule. It is not yet too late, even though a great deal of harm has already been done.
I did not vote for you, but I still cling to the hope that you can do the right thing. Please.
What are you pleading about? You are not anyone’s servant.
You do not need to plead…. you are a citizen of a democratic country… at least by constitution… reality is another.

Amid all the negative press Malta is getting the world over, out comes Deborah Schembri with her words of wisdom: ”(…) It is unacceptable that the Opposition it trying to deceive the population and do damage to Malta (…)”.

Unfortunately, and very depressingly, the only medium that will finally shake some Maltese people out of their trance is when we’re severely cold-shouldered by all EU member states in the Eurovision, but we’ll get maximum points from Russia and Azerbaijan. Only then, maybe, will the cogs in their rusted brains be oiled a little, because that is the only international ‘politics’ they understand.
To dismiss all these headlines as some sort of conspiracy led by the evil Gonzi PN compounds the definition of insularity to the state of national crisis.
