Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando took Lara Boffa with him to Germany when he gave that appalling speech at a university there, and he was meant to speak about the ‘city of the future’ but instead he spoke about himself, divorce, religion, the Bible and the obscure antics of Maltese politicians.

He must have taken her in her official role as ‘personal assistant to senior management’, except we now know only too well what that job description really means.

And she’s paid out of the public purse to service her boss.

Lovely.

How about a couple of questions in parliament?

    We entrusted a bunch of amateurs to govern us ‘biex nippruvawhom, ghax ghadhom godda, friski, zghazagh’ and we’re reaping the inevitable results.

    A bloody mess, everywhere you look, and with four more years to go. Tumas, emmint ghax rajt, ghalkemm hemm min ghadu mhux jemmen u ghadu jiggustifika kull ma jaghmlu biex ma jghammettix li zbalja.

    Eddy Privitera qed ikollu jahdem overtime miskin jipprova jimsah il-mandra ta’ hmieg u caflis.

  2. curious says:

    Lara Boffa told us that she was going to vote Labour ‘Ghax Hemm Bzonn ta’ Bidla fid-Direzzjoni.

    Who more than Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando knows how to change course, continuously and often.

  3. albona says:

    Yes I’d speculate that it was a very specific assignment, or rather ‘job’, that was conducted there.

    This fella’s simplistic interpretation of the term Liberal seems to have rather more to do with the level of lubrication on one’s trouser zip than on any inspiration from the likes of Voltaire or De Tocqueville.

    Yet, notwithstanding his complete ignorance of the history of Liberalism he still feels he has the right to turn up at a conference and embarrass himself and the agency he represents by giving an off-topic talk about his supposed long overdue liberal crusade against the PN papists and theocrats. Please, at least spare us the more enlightened, and save your garbage for the easily wowed crouds at the socialist kazini.

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

      Wasn’t it Voltaire who declared: “I would not consort with her myself, but I defend his right to give a seeing-to to whomsoever he pleases?”

      That’s what my mate Spud just told me, and he has a PhD in Liberalism. What’s that, Spud? Who’d hit it yourself? Well then just apply for one of the many vacancies at Villa Bighi. I’m sure they could find you something.

    • Fran says:

      Well said Albona, my exact sentiments.

  4. Joe Fenech says:

    She surely knows how to deliver a personalised service.

    With regard to the speech, that was possibly the most weird speech I’ve ever heard. Did his personal assistant write it?

  5. edgar says:

    And she is paid out of the public purse to service her boss. Nahseb biex taqlalu l-carbon minn mal-piston.

  6. Victor says:

    Too much for one day, I have been rendered speechless.

    Between news and posts on Facebook in a few hours only:

    1. Jeffrey Curmi to be appointed AFM head;

    2. a Super One kiosk put up at the entrance to Valletta ‘broadcasting’ propaganda against the previous Nationalist government;

    3. Carol Peralta’s party at the Law Courts and the Times of Malta reporter being arrested;

    4. the reason behind JPO appointing an incompetent person on the taxpayer’s back is that it was for sexual favours.

    Is it possible that the switchers are sleeping well at night?

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

      Oh yes, Jeffrey Curmi. I trust all AFM personnel are happy now that their block vote in favour of Labour has borne its fruit.

      Major to Brigadier in what – three months? I know Bombardiers who’ve been soldiering for sixteen years without moving an inch closer to the Sergeants’ mess. Oh well. As long as we have a good old right-wing Malta l-Ewwel government li jaqbez ghas-suldati u l-familji taghhom.

  7. Spock says:

    All this fuss about the 2000 euro donation that Austin Gatt allegedly recieved for his electoral campaign pales into insignificance compared to the millions being officially siphoned off our public purse to accommodate Muscat’s billboard partners , ministers’ wives etc . What blatant hypocrisy ! In just a few months the MLP has bummed more for personal gain than the Nationalists did in 25 years .

  8. edgar says:

    All this fuss about the 2000 euro donation. Joe Gasan and Tumas must be laughing theirs heads off with this pittance of a donation. Theirs was with a handful of zeros added to this figure.

  9. ken il malti says:

    Is she really Anthony Quinn’s daughter?

  10. Gahan says:

    “And she’s to service her boss.”

    And Konradi’s wife is heftily paid out of the public purse to stay away from her husband.

    I think she asked him to choose between her or his political life. Some sort of compromise was found. The taxpayer pays, of course.

  11. Maradona says:

    Yet Pullicino Orlando is forever posting pictures and status updates about his “kids” (all of them adults) on Facebook. Then he does this. What is he doing – leading by example? Contributing to the sum total of their happiness?

    Lara Boffa will live to regret it, like those other women before her who made the mistake of falling for Pullicino Orlando’s big talk.

    I never imagined he would turn out to be so evil. Go, Jeffrey, go – to hell.

    Happy Christmas to all.

  12. Lomax says:

    Quite frankly, these people might be really having a lot of fun at our own expense – in other words, they seem to having lots of fun sex at our own expense.

    Good for them, I suppose. Poor, poor us.

    [Daphne – If you want my considered opinion, I actually don’t think there’s much sex at all involved here, and not even in his previous relationships. Pullicino Orlando strikes me as a man who is not interested in women sexually. By this, I don’t mean that he’s gay, just that he’s not really into it because beyond a wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am, it involves communication at a level of which he is fundamentally incapable and that repels him.]
