So…is Peter Paul Zammit going to book the prime minister, or is he above and beyond the law?

PM uses bus lane - January 2014

Here’s the prime minister in his official car (the family saloon, actually, which he has leased to the state and just carried on using), breaching two clearly marked ‘no entry except for public transport’ signs and skipping the queue of ordinary mortals by using the exit restricted to buses.

This is on the road between Mosta and Lija.

Maybe that was Mama Michelle on the way to ‘her’ office at Villa Francia.

  2. anthony says:

Yes, Peter Paul Zammit will only book the PM if Mr Jeremy Fisher tells him to do so.

He might book the guys in the other two red cars in the picture just for the sake of appearing to be doing something.

After all they are far too close for comfort to the Prime Minister’s car aren’t they?

    They shouldn’t be there, really.

That’s what an ordinary mortal like me defines as “leading by example”!

Indeed, I have witnessed scores of happy-go-lucky car drivers breaching the law in this particular place, sometimes even at a stone’s throw from a “dutiful” warden further down the road opposite the roundabout.

For this is Malta, a paradise in the making, where liberals, progressives and what-not are having a whale of a time, and we bores and nerds, etc., just onlookers, still dreaming of better days.

  4. math says:

Maybe he needs to check his eyesight as I think he read the road markings as ‘Bosses Only’.

  5. Calculator says:

While in no way a justification for this car driver’s actions, as someone who passes through the area daily, I have to admit that that particular crossing is quite prone to abuse.

  6. Rumplestiltskin says:

He would probably book the person who took the picture.

  7. Maltease says:

In his defence, he does look like a bus.

  8. Angus Black says:

And he was probably escorted to and from by two ‘traffic police’ on motor bikes.

  9. CPS says:

Maybe it’s a new bus with a bendy owner ?

    Did someone say roadmap?

  11. Michael says:

This really pisses me off. There are police that usually wait around the corner, hidden enough so that you won’t see them, and they’d fine you for passing from that road.

This is the level of arrogance after 9 months of government. Imagine after 5 years.
