Wow is that a 75 + years Asian male ? Must be the yoga…….

  2. francesca says:

Well, we had better get used to it because that is what new Maltese citizens will be looking like.

    Tsk tsk. So Thailand’s wild.

  4. Manuel says:

This reveals that the Shame-Scheme was definitely conceived and planned in secret during Muscat’s visit to China in April 2010.

  5. Paul says:

And if that kid is born in 1957 (ID card number ends in 57), then he definitely is not 75+ or in anyway eligible for Kartanzjan.

  6. This calls into question the mentality of the officers responsible for this sample.

What idiots. Great PR for their fabulous scheme.

I love my country’s founding values, its natural beauty and so, so many people in it, but that I can no longer say that I am proud to be a Maltese. Here are ten reasons why:

1 – I am not proud of the way the separation between church and state has been eroded.

2 – I am not proud of the job the media have done, we are no longer a high-quality, independent media.

3 – We are fast becoming a democracy in name only.

4 – Other EU countries and their peoples now regard the Maltese as a greater threat.

5 – Malta has become an island of the corporation, by the corporation and for the corporation, opening up the environment to the polluters.

6 – I am not proud of the reverse Robin Hood syndrome that has recently gripped our economy. Our cyrrebt rulers have been recklessly looting our island wealth and resources, stealing from the poor and giving the spoils to the rich.

7 – All businesses profiting from the billboards which mushroomed all over the islands.

    8 – Rampant building violations

9 – Politicians childish behaviour by accuse others of doing things they did not do.

10 – The Labour promise of Malta Taghna Llkoll has gone too.

I wouldn’t count No. 1 as a reality in Malta any more. The government is basically doing whatever it wants despite what anyone says, be it the Church or otherwise.

At least this Camilleri guy has a sense of humour.

  12. Mark Vassallo says:

The ID bomber in the sample belongs to a certain Joseph Mary Mamo, k/a Joe, of Naxxar.

I wouldn’t be too happy to have my ID number splashed around like that on a specimen card.

  13. Makjavel says:

Does this actually prove that the sudden urgency to issue e-IDs was to circumvent the passport problem.

While you are in the Schengen zone, you only need an ID card.

[Daphne – Actually you need no identification at all when moving inside the Schengen area.]

The law is only about passports.

“The back door into Europe: 277 people have already expressed an interest in applying for the £950,000 Maltese passports that will let them live in the EU.”

“A spokesman for Henley & Partners said that it has built “Chinese walls” to ensure that its sales executives have no contact with staff in charge of producing a “risk-weighting assessment” on each client.”

Did you know that the Identity Malta offices are located at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, taking up most of the rooms which were being used as part of Republic Hall? Nowadays most high budget conferences are refusing to hire the hall because of the space is barred to use and the Mediterranean Conference Centre has already lost major contracts because of this.
