Either the party (oops) government is paying loads of cash to this filmmaker or he has reached the point overseas where nobody wants to hire him anymore. Adoration for labour cannot be the driving force alone unless he intends to milk this naïve government with some dodgy ‘business’ plan

Shouldn’t women just be ‘classy and fabulous’ and devoid of any opinion: like sweet little girls be seen but not heard?

The Sunday Times decides to go a bit further and investigate for once, but does it really?

The Sunday Times deftly deflects the focus from Nair and his involvement with Malta Government, the deposed Ukrainian President Yanukovych, use of Putin’s contacts, arrangements between the parties for the supply of arms on Antonov planes from Belarus to GNC (Libya) and the involvement of these parties in renegotiating the Libya’s debt for the held Antonovs. :

That’s what a full in-depth investigation should go into, not a scratching of the surface into revealing the missing name on an already available photograph. Wow.

    Hail Joseph.

This was the blog post that appeared under this site last week:

Could we now have a full investigative report on the whole of the issue in focus please, not just the tidy bits?

Much was made about last week’s Economist ‘Malta Investment Summit’. It was made out to be a ‘trovata’ now that we have Muscat as PM.

Well tell you what, a similar Economist summit is being held in Baku this week themed ‘Azerbaijan Investment Summit’.

Could it be the Muscat and his Azeri friends got a bulk discount from the Economist to organize a summit on consecutive weeks?

Does the folllowing apply to Alfred Sant only or to Simon Busuttil as well? The latter is undergoing procedures in a case of breach of privilege in parliament.

“”Freedom of expression constitutes one of the essential foundations of a democratic society and one of the basic conditions for its progress,” Sant said.”

    and

“The limits of acceptable criticism are wider as regards a politician as such than as regards a private individual.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale again acquitted Dr Sant, saying that the comment passed by the former leader of the opposition was objectively fair and founded on the facts to which it was related, albeit passed by someone who was prejudiced.”

    and

“Magistrate Depasquale acquitted Dr Sant and explained that freedom of expression is not only applicable to favourably received information but also to ideas and information that offend, shock and disturb. “Such are the demands of pluralism, tolerance and broad-mindedness without which there is no democratic society,” the court said.”

Hi Daphne, I recently flew to Istanbul Ataturk airport. Passengers of most nationalities, including those requiring a visa for entry into Turkey, could go through a section called Passport Control 1.

To my surprise, people with a Maltese passport had to go through a separate Passport Control 2, alongside Iraqi, Sub-Saharan Africans, Egyptians and one or two other dodgy nationalities.

This was my first time in Turkey, so I wonder if this is some new post-citizenship scheme precaution. Maybe some readers could clarify? I’m quite curious.

I apologise for leaving this comment under an unrelated post.

Excellent video. It really hits home.

While on the subject of women, Mark Anthony Falzon had an excellent article published yesterday about why Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will make a terrible president.

Ironically enough, she really should know her limits.

The Malta Independent and Times of Malta both reported Joseph Muscat’s Sunday speech today but they failed to highlight the big news in bold lettering on the front pages.

Apparently, he said that the gas pipeline which will eventually replace the oil tanker berthed in Marsaxlokk might not be connected to mainland Europe but ‘to the south of Malta.’

The only countries to the south of Malta are turbulent northern African ones.

If Muscat is planning on putting Malta’s energy generation capacity in Libya’s hands, he’s even barmier and more reckless than we thought.

    Absolutely hilarious.

I’m not sure why he felt the need to emphasise that women need to act in a frivolous manner and not show an ounce of intelligence. Most Nisa Laburisti are already following the advice given by this video, and to the letter.

Having said that, most Irgiel Laburisti are following suit.

The I-Survey commissioned by The Malta Independent indicates many things, but certainly proves one: that those who vote PN tend to be more discerning in their choice.
