Mrs Abela Baldacchino dresses up for carnival – as a comic-strip burglar and jailbird

We can see from these photographs released by her office that Claudette Abela Baldacchino, the Labour MEP who has been appointed chief of the organisation Nisa Laburisti, made it a point to dress up for carnival.
But two things are missing: a Zorro-type mask and a sack bearing the legend SWAG.

You need to be a kind of burglar to escape from the ghetto (pigeon-hole) that the MLP set up for women.
Dear God in heaven. Is Joseph Muscat wearing a velvet jacket over jeans?
Velvet is for the slim and trim.
Worked for Travis Bickle.
Wear striped clothes if your size is 12.
Don’t wear striped clothes if your size is 18.
If you have to wear striped clothes, just wear one item of clothing preferably a camisole underneath a black jacket and with black trousers, not striped trousers.
Basic Rules of Fashion which people in politics should follow.
And never wear horizontal stripes unless you are very skinny.
Is it just me, or does the model prisoner actually look like Joseph Muscat?
Too thin and manly.
I saw her at the airport a few weeks ago. The gate crew called her a number of times on the PA system, and she didn’t show up at the gate until the final call.
She walked casually (from the cafeteria or smoking area, I don’t know), displaying no sense of hurry or embarrassment. She was wearing those hideous boots.
She’s massively fat as well. her clothes don’t fit, and if they do, they don’t suit her body shape. There are many designs that would suit her, but she sticks with conventional stripes, monochrome even.

The lady in yellow looks nice but yellow is not suitable for this time of year, and neither is that striped pyjama.
I tend to disagree here. It’s spring, so it’s all the others dressed in black who are not suitably dressed.
[Daphne – It’s not spring, it’s winter. Spring begins on the 21st, and even so. But I agree with you about the black – it’s horrid and nobody wears it anywhere else during the day. It has to be Malta, always 20 years behind the times.]
It is just great to see her not frothing at the mouth, unlike her last performance in the EP.
AND I see that Muscat has taken to carrying his podium around again. Pity we can’t see that new addition (a 6 foot+ high clear Perspex stand, with the latest PL slogan printed on it) in the photo above.
Is it the old one out on lease from the Labour Party?
Here’s another one who has most certainly lost it.
A standing zebra crossing.
Is there one human being within the PL top ranks who is within normal limits ?
Not even John Dalli wore a striped suit when he was prisoner in Brussels.
Every road map has its zebra crossing.
Maybe she heard that vertical stripes are slimming, but got the direction wrong.
Oh and boots are strictly NO when the size of the calves are not in proportion.
And I thought it was a zebra doing a handstand.
Ga liebsa ghall-Kordin.
She might be getting comfortable in prison cloths just in case she is found guilty of messing with EU funds (airline tickets scandal).
