Manuel Micallef, Labour’s head of broadcast news who has been put on the state payroll at Wasteserv, with his girlfriend Norma Saliba, who has also been put on the state payroll at TVM.
Manuel Micallef, a former General Workers Union big cheese who hosts a talk show on the Labour Party’s television station and who was that station’s head of news until this week, has now been put on the state payroll too.
He has been given a pseudo-job at the state waste management corporation, Wasteserv. The quisling and failed architect Jesmond Mugliett has been put on that same payroll already, with a job as a full-time ‘consultant’.

Mhux tajjeb jew. Ahjar jaghmlu lili fuq l-istate payroll ukoll! U kemm ilellex.
The company dealing with waste is probably the most appropriate for the whole lot of them.
Once they had a skip, now they have a whole Wasteserv.
He will feel very much at home working with skips, I’m sure.
Ha nghid hekk, m’hawnx bhalhom dawn.
Good. A job in waste management. He should start with cutting down the size of the prime minister’s cabinet.
Not at all. Just throw the whole lot in the incinerator. They won’t even make suitable fertilizing material if simply thrown into the waste-processing plant.
Ghandek ragun. Qas haqq intuh kedda lil Sant’Antnin.
Now the corporation is truly living up to its name, Wasteserve.
He was also a candidate for the PL in last year’s election who had a poor performance despite his media exposure.
Under the Nationalist government there was a lot of speculation about corruption/misallocation of funds in Wasteserv.
Now we have the current Labour government which is using it to provide iced buns for some of those people to whom it feels obliged, but who itdoesn’t know what to do with.
Had there really been mismanagement of finances under the Nationalists, then were are they getting the money to finance the iced buns? Either they’re running the company into the red as no one would think of investigating Wasteserv so soon after the previous scandal, or else the previous scandal was unfounded and they’re now paying for the iced buns using the so called mismanaged funds.
What gets to me is how Labour portrayed itself as some liberal movement, vision, future and whatnot, when all they wanted were government jobs.
It has to be seen how much of the increase in GDP is owed to these new ‘jobs’.
U kemm hi twila l-lista, donna ma tispicca qatt!
Many fingers in many pies were needed to get the propaganda machine properly oiled and going. Do you think that any of them did it for the love of Malta?
