Chris Packham questioned by police in Malta after filming bird hunters
– The BBC wildlife presenter was quizzed for four hours

By Antonia Molloy

BBC wildlife presenter Chris Packham was quizzed by police in Malta after he filmed bird hunters. Mr Packham underwent four hours of questioning by the Maltese Police at their Force Headquarters in Floriana on Saturday.

The Springwatch presenter, who has now arrived back in the UK, had spent 10 days filming for his Massacre on Migration series, which, in conjunction with Birdlife Malta, aims to raise awareness about the slaughter of migrant birds on the Mediterranean island.

Before the general elections we had the police busy interrogating ex European Commissioner John Dalli about very serious allegations of corruption.

Now John Dalli is another of our Prime Minister’s boy crushes and the police are wasting their time and our taxes interrogating people who came to Malta to see whether we’re sticking to our international commitments.

With Malta under Labour, there’s no rule of law; so the point is not really about telling the police to uphold Maltese law.

    What a shame.

But there were many who said “let’s give them a chance”, others said “the PN have been in power too long, how much damage could the MLP do?”

Others still said “it’s not cool to vote PN”, and a really ‘wise’ one said “it’s their turn”. Amazing how wrong reckless decisions can turn out to be.

I bet the commissioner’s still trying to figure out who Chris Packham is.

Well, judging by the amount of newspapers, blogs, websites reporting this, it’s not your average tourist.

I’d love to see that unblinking idiot of an environment minister propose some eco-tourism rubbish.

You utter bunch of moronic wankers.

  4. Esteve says:

Well at least that explains why hunters were out in full force celebrating Labour’s victory last election.

    • Min Jaf says:

Muscat has evidently allowed spring hunting in an attempt to try and squeeze every possible vote in favour of PL candidates in the forthcoming MEP election.

Same tactic he adopted by pushing through the homosexual marriage and gay couple adoption law. And the recent emasculation of MEPA now favouring developers.

Come to think of it, no wonder Joseph Muscat has a funny walk, and cannot put his legs together when seated – it is the result of the many strings firmly tied to his balls.

    The irony of it.
The hunters are yelling at Chris Packham,
    “STOP SHOOTING. STOP SHOOTING.”

  6. H.Galea (NRK) says:

It all seems to be a question of targets – some, foolishly choose innocent migrating creatures, whilst the real bravi opt to aim and shoot at their own feet. Carry on bravi. Who knows ? possibly tourism might no longer directly or indirectly provide a source of income for you or member/s of your family ! – bravi, bravi tassew, fl-ahhar ser jirnexxielkom taxxquha.
