Reno Bugeja, head of news at TVM, should discipline his team for lousy and irresponsible reporting

Published: April 4, 2014 at 11:19am

Yesterday’s TVM news bulletin, reporting on the arraignment of teacher Erin Tanti for the murder of his pupil Lisa Marie Zahra, described victim and perpetrator as follows:

“Lisa Maria Zahra u l-habib taghha…”.

That is precisely why I come here for straight-to-the-point, matter-of-fact news.

I don’t watch, read or hear any other news anywhere else. Apart from the fact that, most of the time, here I get to know news way before the actual newspapers or newscasts report them.

    Thank you, Daphne.

Why is the chinless wonder being handled with kid gloves in the main-stream news media?

This anomaly started from day one.

“‘I later found out I’d fallen for four seconds after the rope snapped: a distance of up to 40m. If I had been over land, I’d have been dead”. Not if your name is Erin Tanti! http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/apr/04/my-bungee-cord-snapped-experience?CMP=fb_gu

    What’s next, mahbub? Gharus? Partner?

This kind of shoddy work and treatment by so-called professionals is such an insult, particularly to the Zahra family who have shown incredible restraint and decorum in the face of so much ridiculous bullshit ans sheer speculation.

They are to be commended, her father in particular.
