The nudists have spotted a window of opportunity and are calling for naturism to be made legal

With all this business about legislating for same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption and visions of smoking pot and snorting cocaine on the street without being arrested, and now even abortion (“the bast in Ewropa”), the nudists have spied a window of opportunity and leaped right in through it with a statement this morning calling on the government to make going about in the nude legal.

I do not think same sex marriage has anything to do with the nude bathing proposal while the government has confirmed it continues to oppose abortion legalisation.
[Daphne – Try to be a bit less literal-minded and to identify forms of humour that do not involve banana skins and cream pies, David.]
Just be grateful they don’t make it compulsory.
You’ll always be free to wear swimwear as long as it’s red.
You never know what Joseph Muscat will do for votes.
Daphne, I think our friend, David, is a little slow on the uptake. Met many like him over the years. They have to be ‘humoured’.
Well, as long as Muscat does not inaugurate the nudist beach himself …
I think Marlene Farrugia is the appropriate MP to inaugurate the beach and see to it that it would be free of jelly fish.
I am sure that she will take my comment with a pinch of salt.
His willy might get entangled with the inaugurating ribbon. We don’t want accidents there.
It will be well hidden beneath his ample belly.
Sorry forgot that Grezz, thank you for reminding me.
He’ll send Mrs Muscat instead of him for the inauguration: “Hawn hi, illum jien gejt ta.”
His gut would cover any potential indecency anyway.
What a sight for sore eyes!
Ghaliex le? Inkella ma nkunux liberali, progressivi u open minded Daphne hi!
I have no qualms about the legalisation of drugs as long as healthcare is privatised, social housing is axed, and a council tax is introduced (the aim of the latter is to cover policing, social services, etc in a more realistic manner).
We can’t have a situation where people get stoned and get into trouble; children are neglected by junky parents; people lose jobs because their whole persona is affected by drug use – and then expect everyone else to pick up the bill.
Decide what sociological model you want to adopt, people.
Are you suggesting that we entrust policing, social services in the hands of the idiots running local councils? Surely you jest?
“I have no qualms about the legalisation of drugs as long as healthcare is privatised, social housing is axed, and a council tax is introduced (the aim of the latter is to cover policing, social services, etc in a more realistic manner).”
Fantastic idea. It’s worked flawlessly in the UK.
“We can’t have a situation where people get stoned and get into trouble; children are neglected by junky parents; people lose jobs because their whole persona is affected by drug use – and then expect everyone else to pick up the bill.”
The champagne socialists have made way for the cocaine conservatives.
The Government opposes until there are votes to be had. As soon as there are votes at stake – then Dr Muscat does U turns and agrees.
This summer Malta will have the nudist beach and the nudist will vote PL MEPs.
Agree 100 %

Oh my God. There’s a Legalise Nudist Beaches and Topless Bathing in Malta Group. I wonder what’s on their calendar of activities and who the members are.
Look at the picture on timesofmalta.com and you can do a study about the body language of the prospective PL MEPs. Start with Alfred Sant.
I hope they enjoyed today’s windy weather at Fort Chambray.

Where is the right of naturists to exhibit their wares?
And while we’re at it, could we also please ensure naturists’ rights to adopt, even if they are not gay.
Would be a great day for Malta if members of parliament, from both sides of the camp, would acknowledge their approval by attending a sitting in the nude. (Fig leaves not permitted)
Having a nudist beach may sound like fun but you might go there and see all the people that you would not want to see naked in your worst nightmare.
If the nudists convince Jo to legalise public nudity in Malta, then the peeping Toms will want their rights to peep to be legalised as well.
This is going to be a never-ending story, what with one thing leading to another.
I’m as liberal as they come but I think we should pause a while and do some serious thinking.
The decriminalization of certain so-called soft drugs, if aimed at first-time offenders who are users and not dealers, with a view to helping them off the drug, may have certain advantages but one must reflect as to whether the list of so-called soft drugs might become longer in time.
The British partly controlled China through opium in the 19th century. Do we want drug-barons — one no longer seems to hear of them nowadays — to take over Maltese society now?
I do not think Maltese society should become a haven for drug users, attracting drug-user tourism as happened in Amsterdam. The dangers would outweigh the benefits by far.
Is it possible to give up and decide that certain people just cannot live without drugs?
The director of Caritas Malta Monsignor Grech said more than once that the war against drugs was all but lost. Is decriminalization our final capitulation?
As to nudist beaches, I have nothing against them in principle. I privately advocated their legalization quite a few years ago when testosterone had a firmer hold on me.
As far as I am concerned, they may be legalized as long as they are away from the public gaze and away from children. It is more the aesthetic aspect of it that induces me to insist on seclusion, given the overweight epidemic rampant among the Maltese population.
If politicians will embrace any “liberal” claim in a frantic effort to gain votes at any cost, the situation in this country is even more dire than I thought. Hunting is an example – spring hunting was supposed to be a sort of example of a regulated concession and look where we are now.
I think your disclaimer ‘I’m as liberal as they come’ says it all.
Viva l-Kap d’Agde.
Tits and buttocks taghna lkoll.
Legalising nudism will doing wonders for art.

Picture for Labour party’s billboard for the general elections of 2018:
Two nude married males with nude adopted child, all of them smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol on the beach somewhere in the North of Malta.
And the message on the billboard says:
No Labour movement, no party.
Will they risk uncovering their back with these bunch in government, dejjem lest ibex iwahhluwulek?

Aha! That would be the ultimate distraction from the mess the Rock is in ( who the f*ck cares about an apocalyptic LNG leak as long as we can hang our wares out? )…and I wonder ( or is that shudder?) who the first recruits of our own starkers community would be…….and would Romanova sign off the Bill?

Do the environmentalists still think it’s a good idea to separate environment from planning?
I ask because before the 2013 elections some environmentalists campaigned vigorously for the separation of environment and planning. I remember Dr. Gonzi explaining that it would be a step backwards for the environment but no, our clever environmentalists thought otherwise and insisted on the demerger. To gain more votes, Joseph Muscat obliged and promised the demerger.
I ask those idiots (and I am not referring to DLH) who campaigned for the demerger: Happy now?
Astrid Vella was all for it.
The nudists must be on tenterhooks:

I am a fervent proponent of nudism and I look forward to having the Prime Minister opening the first official nude beach by sunning himself in the buff along with us.
