The Malta Independent updates its report: Labour MP found “hog-tied and naked”; the men entered through the front door and knew their way about his “labyrinthine” house

TMI hogtied

The newspaper reports:

Court appointed architect Richard Aquilina concluded that the aggressors must have had prior knowledge of the “labyrinth” of corridors in Zammit’s home, and there were no signs of forced entry.

(…)

Anthony Zammit was found hogtied and naked with blood running down his lips and trauma to his head…Police told the court that a number of the victim’s own neckties were used to immobilise him.

I hope at least that those neckties were silk.

    “hog-tied and naked”

This is reading out like some Erin Tanti novel.

I don’t know what’s happening but is the MLT turning out to be a haven for perverts?

Was he clothed when he was found tied face down on his bed?

The police officer standing witness yesterday, did not say the WHOLE truth. If Profs Anton was found fully clothed Daphne’s theory would have been nearer to fiction.

[Daphne – My theory was the result of a rational assessment based on the facts and a reasonable knowledge of human nature and the individuals involved, Gahan, including information that is not in the public domain and knowledge of several other similar cases. There is also the ‘sub-text’ to be considered – the little clues that you can’t quite put your finger on that tell you something is not quite right. When people give out too much information, too many details, they are generally covering something up but seeking to appear as though they are doing the opposite. Real victims of crime do not give interviews with graphic details – they do not need to PR their terrible experience. Rest assured that I would never have written what I did unless I had a reasonable basis for doing so – just as I did in the Erin Tanti case, when everybody was going on about some kind of joint suicide and I wrote that actually, he probably killed her. The devil is in the detail. Always.]

The significant detail in this case was that Zammit couldn’t remember anything about the alleged attackers but was quite sure of their shoe size.

And the picture shows him with a blurry “DINJITÀ” behind him. How apt.
