Now it’s ‘tick tock Marie Louise’

The head of state has called for more involvement with the immigrant community and she is right to do so in the face of their being treated like invading outsiders and having to deal with hostility, bitterness, resentment, stares and insults on a daily basis.
And this has now made her the target of the irrational anger and aggression which, unfortunately, her former political party helped foment and augment.
Beneath news reports of President Coleiro Preca’s call for more support to the immigrant community it’s all ‘tick tock Marie Louise’ and similar.

Does anyone have any information as to why the ‘Outing Malta’s Racists’ Facebook page disappeared?

Are they being protected by our blatantly racist government by any chance ?
I understand that the person who created that page faced a lot of criticism, even from those who oppose racism. They felt that the page was targeting “private persons”.
It was removed because it violated Facebook’s policies
It’s back online: https://www.facebook.com/groups/377595985622234/?ref=ts&fref=ts
Is tick tock a reference to a bomb ticking?
And to think that the U.S. in times of Martin Luther King was bad! You reap what you sow….
But what is this? After the President has compared voting for immigrants to eating half-baked potatoes have her advisors and iNews sensed that this would dent Labour’s liberal lustre, and this is an attempt to remedy? Didn’t go down well with their readers though? Ah, running with the hares and hunting with the hounds…
She was a cabinet minister when the government threatened vulnerable people with push backs. She did not utter one single word of disapproval. In fact she probably agreed with the push back policy because silence means consent.
Kif nghidu bil-Malti “Qatghat sandar ukoll”,
X’wahda daru ghaliha shabha stess bil-kummenti xenofobi li tefghulha.
Wiehed minnhom sa wasal biex heddidha li l-Labour ser jitlef il-voti minhabba kliemha fuq l-immigrant rregolari.
Our PM has to take responsibility for the rise in racist and xenophobic sentiment.
Yes, the PL (not just Muscat) has to shoulder the major responsibility for the rise of racism but others – PN, Church, NGOs – have not been exactly vigorous in opposing it.
ML ought to be commended for her efforts.
