May God help us all, she says, from her house in the suburbs of Brussels

The egocentricity of some people is beyond belief. May God help us? I think what God really needs to do, and be quick about it, is help them.
Trying to get out of Libya now, even if you are there a regular expatriate worker, must be total hell. Imagine what things must be like for the people who have crossed overland from Syria in the east or across the Sahara in the south, with a view to acquiring refugee status in Europe.
It was already bad for them before civil war broke out. Now they are completely exposed to the kind of danger people like Sharon Ellul Bonici cannot even imagine.

Thanks for posting this, Daphne! As always, you rock.
That picture is 23 years old and of Albanians. She intentionally misused the picture and wrote an inflammatory description. She must have learned this from her friends over in that racist Facebook page.
My thoughts exactly. The image quality is far too grainy, and the people in the crowd don’t appear to be African at all.

Misuse of a photo.
That photo is from Albania in the 90s. I wish people would stop misusing it pretending it’s from Libya present day.
If Sharon Ellul Bonici didn’t recognise this photo for what it is (rather than what the panic mongers make it out to be), she could have zoomed in and read the ship’s name.
That is the Vlora, those people are Albanian, the place is Bari in Italy, and the year was 1991.
Sharon Ellul Bonici’s photo is 23 years out of date, but her mindset is antediluvian.

It is not a ‘misuse’ of a photo taken more than 20 years ago.
It is a deliberate attempt to raise a false alarm and instigate hatred and racism – at a particularly difficult moment in our region.
One would have expected Sharon to have learned to do the right thing – after 10 years’ experience (or was it wheeling and dealing?) in Brussels.
Apparently, she has done nothing of the sort – except, perhaps wallowing deeper in labor’s excrement skip.
How sick is this woman?
That photo shows the Vlora, the Albanian merchant ship which moored off Bari back in 1991 when her dear comrades were coming apart.

This one’s better.
Thanffully we got rid of them three years earlier. We would have done the same.

Sharon must be pleased:

Another example by Sharon Ellul Bonici of the base ethical standards of Labour apologists, while all the while enjoying the benefits of the EU that Labour did not want to join.
Heartwarming to learn that her priority during this time is the potential influx of Muslims and not one word for the danger and sorrow these people are facing.
Its telling about Maltese stupidity that while we fret about being over run by hapless Africans, we have just willingly capitulated our country to the world largest nation, who is also a dictatorial superpower with a history of establishing colonies in every nation in the world.
