Given that Muscat didn’t even manage to set up the task force he had promised.
That’s the second summer, not that we don’t deserve a decent environment, but Muscat vouched to have an army to improve the product.
And off he goes on holiday.
And about effing time to – though it should not have been the AFM doing that job.
Oh what a feat. I was there and counted over 25 soldiers with white t shirts. Don’t know what time they were there but definitely were there at 11.30 sitting on the beach with hundreds of plastic bags full of sea weed.
They were obviously waiting for some patrol boat to collect the bags and it could be that they were there all day.
Can Manwel Mallia of ” hiring waiters fame” let us know the cost of yesterday’s operation involving 25 soldiers .
In the past this cleaning used to be done regurarly by a couple of men and in the month of June not during Santa Maria week.
Zammit Lewis is excited as the idea may have been forthcoming from his father in law, il – hatanbu, colonel (Retd) Raphael Farrugia. He started out mill – pijunieri and found himself a Colonel on the back of his subordinates’ hard work.
Then it’s only going back in time by a mere two years. In 2012, this beach was also cleaned by the AFM.
Possibly one of Bagollu’s (his father-in-law) bright ideas on how the army should be employed in the service of society. As a former pijunier in Mintoff’s glory hole days he knows no better.
Perhaps they were cleaning the bay of land mines.
I thought last week they employed loads of people with the cleansing department to do that…
