The police at the control room didn’t even ask about the shot man, or send an ambulance

Somebody has just posted this comment, which reminded me that I meant to bring this up myself:
Hearing all these recorded phone calls, Sheenan mentions that he shot twice at another driver numerous times and he says it with a sense of bravado.
The thing that sticks out is that the police taking Sheenan’s calls (and there were several) did not even bother to ask about the state of health of the driver at the receiving end of these gun shots…not even once.

Well spotted. There’s also no authentication. It’s harder to get access to my mobile top-up account than it is to dispatch a Rapid Intervention Unit squad to a driver on the Regional Road.

Is the Prime Minister issuing statements that the police are unprofessional, because of Sheenan and the way they answered his calls, or because someone from the police force leaked these calls to the press?
Dan l-atteggjament juri kemm il-kritika tal-Oppozizzjoni hi gusta.
Hi kultura taht il-Labour li “il-Gvern taghna, naghmlu li rridu”. Tant hu hekk li kif jinghad hawn fuq, lanqas tghaddi minn mohh min suppost qed joffri sigurta, li jistaqsi jekk kienx hemm konsegwenzi serji.
Ix-xufier tal-Ministru spara, allura ghandu ragun.
Il-fatt li tressaq il-Qorti gimgha wara, hu biss konsegwenza tal-pressjoni pubblika u mhux konkluzjoni naturali tal-investigazzjonijiet li saru. Ta’ dan ghandhom tort kemm il-Ministru tal-Intern (Mallia) kif ukoll il-Prim Ministru li jridu jilghabu ghaz-zmien biex jizgiccaw ir-responsabbilta politika taghhom.
L-affarijiet kienu cari mit-telefonati li ghaddew mal-Control Room u jammontaw sahansitra ghal ammissjoni ta’ abbuz ta’ poter.
Id-dewmien fl-investigazzjonijiet ikompli jsahhah il-htiega ta’ rizenji (tnehhijiet) immedjati.

It might well be a case of burying bad news.
Is the prime minister still studying the enquiry report or are they still printing the conclusion? Ghas-satra tal-lejl gej ix-xoghol.
These recordings are raising more and more questions.
Was the Minister with him or was he at the Police HQ?
Was the minister’s daughter with him in the car or at his mother’s?
While driving, speaking on the phone and holding the gun, who was holding the wheel?
And the more we hear the more complications come to light.
OK, siehbi.
We have to ask whether Mallia told the whole truth and nothing but the truth to Muscat. Not that I am covering for Muscat but it’s complicated.
We also have to ask whether Muscat knows how to tell the truth to the traditional MLP faction, or anyone else, for that matter.
It’s always complicated.
The obvious question from the control room would have been:
“Did you hit him at least once or are you just wasting ammunition?”
“Do you need an ambulance or do you need the police hearse and the the duty magistrate?”
There is one more detail which could be significant and on which I never saw any comments.
It seems that Sheehan parked the Mercedes quite some distance away from his mother. This is highly suspicious. We all know that minister’s drivers are not much bothered with parking regulations.
