“Singer William Mangion appears to have come good on his €20,000 per annum contract as Culture Minister Owen Bonnici announced that a location for “rock bands” to practice in may have finally been found in Marsa.
Speaking in Parliament, Dr Bonnici said Mr Mangion’s scouting efforts are at an advanced stage and further information will be provided at a later date. ”

Like Joe Mizzi, first they have to package the news and then they explain it to us. At least we know it is in Marsa. Slowly but surely we will be enlightened.
In the 80s you had Tignè. These days there’s Marsa and Birkirkara. That’s where most Maltese bands practise.
Colombus hasn’t found America this time.

As successful as his singing career, I see.
Jahasra no space available underneath parliament, I mean come on, the hawkers got Ordinance Street and Malta Taghna Ilkoll and all that, why not jahasra!
I think the actual parliament room would be great for a quartetto.
There isn’t proper performance space let alone rehearsal space.
Is it 2 years? I thought he was appointed immediately post March 2012, making it nearly 3 years now. I do stand to be corrected.
[Daphne – The general election was in March 2013 not 2012.]
*facepalm* although it does feel A LOT longer, Mike!
Apologies, timescales were never my strong point.
Let’s hope it s not like his hair.

A garage can’t be used as a practice venue.
He found a garage after two years. Goodness sakes, he could have bloody bought one with the money he got just for looking.
His next contract should be to find an office for Sai Mizzi.
And true to Labour, ‘information will be given at a later date’. Is this their song refrain? They repeat it often enough.
Two years to find a garage is not so bad after all.
It took Sai Mizzi Liang almost as long and Eu156,000 later, to set up an appointment for her husband to visit some Chinese acupuncture practitioners.
Actually Mangion is cheap and more productive.
If finding a garage took two years i wonder when medicines will be delivered home .
I suppose he now needs to apply to the MEPA for a change of use.
How about restoring Australia Hall and use that as a venue for bands to practise in?
It might be cheaper than paying Willie’s salary for all the coming years.
Can somebody (presumably a journalist) ask Mr Mangion what he does every day? Seriously. He is working for the government, salary paid by our taxes and all that, so he should have to share what he does to justify his salary.
It would make a very good story for an enterprising journalist. How does he spend his day? He gets ready for work in the morning (afternoon?) and goes where? Does he have an office? Does he report to anyone? Does he have to check in anywhere for a number of hours daily or weekly? Does he have to provide reports weekly or monthly of what he has achieved?
And why stop here? What about all the other lackeys who have been given government contracts for roles of suspicious appropriateness? Let’s find out what they are up to.
William Mangion would be redundant if he finds the garaxx so better not find it for now.
It’s good to have confirmation that the minister’s willy(ie) has found a new space where to have a bash.
But we knew of this already.
Nahseb Muscat krielu xi wiehed tieghu.
Thank goodness he doesn’t work as an estate agent because he would die of hunger.

I would really love to know WHICH garages in Marsa Mr. Genius is referring to. I have an inkling that it is the very same complex of garages that has been used by bands for decades. If it is the complex in question, he hasn’t found anything as such.
What crap. With the finances wasted on Willy’s contract, they could have built this state-of-the-art garage. In Willy’s place, I would be embarrassed to show my face in public. Imbecilli.
Just arrived back in Malta and I was thinking, is there a similar job I can apply for? I know it looks like hard work, but I think I will manage.
Which part of “One day in a garage far away” didn’t he understand?
