Maltese PM to visit Azerbaijan

Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat will make a visit to Azerbaijan in late April.

The State Committee for Work with Diaspora told APA that the purpose of the meeting is to attend the 3rd Global Shared Societies Forum – organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and supported by the committee.

Malta’s head of government will join discussions at the forum and deliver a speech on the European Union and its neighborhood policy.

Joseph Muscat had previously visited Azerbaijan in December 2014, discussing issues of cooperation between the two countries in a variety of areas during several official meetings.

Joseph Muscat, 41, who has long worked as a radio reporter, joined politics afterwards. He was then elected deputy and became the lead of the Labor Party. In March 2013, Muscat was sworn in as Prime Minister of Malta.
