You have to hand it to the Malta Labour Party. It returns to government in a world where the Cold War is dead and most dictators and rulers of evil regimes have been shot – and yet still it manages to squirrel out the few members of a dying breed of dictators and human rights violators in a new world and make them its best friends.
You have to read this piece in The Economist, and bear in mind that these are the Malta government’s mates and paymasters they’re talking about.
