Jason Micallef is to hold a six-hour pageant to mark ‘the Great Siege’ come September – do we weep, or what? One day I might understand why this battle of 450 years ago looms larger and is seen as far more significant than an entire six-year war which ended in 1945.
The Maltese love affair with myths and legends is not to be underestimated.
