Next in line for Gaffarena: Palazzo Verdelin in Valletta
I have it on the best authority (the legal representatives of some of the owners) that Marco Gaffarena is approaching the various owners of Palazzo Verdelin in Archbishop Street, Valletta, and offering to buy them out.
He is also phoning lawyers who he thinks may represent owners and asking for information on who owns what.
Palazzo Verdelin is the beautiful old building which overlooks the Mainguard/St George’s Square, next to the Civil Services Sports Club, which is used as a restaurant.
It houses the Valletta police station but is not owned by the government. It is the perfect candidate for an expropriation order along the lines of what he and his political cronies in government have already done with the local council office in Old Mint Street.
