No wonder there’s so much corruption at the Government Property Division now

When I posted this screen-shoot from Clint Scerri’s Facebook profile a couple of days ago – I took the precaution of running through it before he shut it down – I had no idea who Josef Agius and Malcolm Scerri are, chatting with him so cosily (though I did know about Jackie Dalli).

Then a reader identified them and sent in their details from the government directory. Josef Agius is the principal, Directorate-General, Government Property Division, and Malcolm Scerri is a senior technical officer in the Government Property Division’s Estate Management office. Jackie Dalli is assistant principal, finance and administration, for the Government Property Division.

The Government Property Division is what we know colloquially as ‘Lands’.

All these are public servants, and very senior ones at that.

They are calling 23-year-old political appointee Clint Scerri, who is barely literate and who until 20 months ago was working for a pump manufacturer, “boss” and sucking up to him big time.

This is dreadful. No surprise that there’s all this corruption going on.
