Huawei’s 5G testing: that’s not investment in Malta by any definition

Successive Nationalist governments did an enormous amount and never made a song and dance about it, taking it for granted that this is what governments are actually supposed to do and you’re not supposed to create a circus about the fact that you’ve done your job.

Labour governments are the opposite, particularly this one. They do nothing much that is positive, do a great deal that is corrupt, based on cronyism and very damaging, but make a great big fuss about nothing much at all.

This business with Huawei is just another example of that. Huawei has taken over a small office at Smart City, has just a few CHINESE employees and is “not excluding expansion or taking on one Maltese employee”.

And they’re not making anything or even selling services. They’re testing 5G. Anybody who buys this ‘investment’ spiel is either plain stupid or really uneducated and uninformed.
