Malta has slipped further down the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitive Index this year, by one place, from 48 to 47. This means it has slipped down a full seven places since 2014, when it was ranked at 41.
Among the world’s advanced economies, only Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus and benighted Greece rank lower than Malta.
