Amanda Mifsud, the new Director of Passports & Civil Registration

Celebrating the Labour victory in 2013 with her boyfriend Michael Farrugia, now Family Minister

Amanda Mifsud, the long-time girlfriend of Family and Social Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia, has been appointed Director of Passport & Civil Registration.

The directorate falls under the control of Identity Malta, the organisation set up by the government in 2013 to handle all passport, identity card, citizenship and land registration matters.

Mifsud was not a civil servant and has been given the position on a ‘trusted person’ basis. She has replaced Gaetano Vella, a civil servant.
