European Commission asks Malta to “look into” visas for Libyans and Algerians

Reports in Malta’s media and questions put by French and Italian members of the European Parliament have prompted the European Commission to request Malta to look into the matter of Schengen-zone visas granted to 7,000 Algerians in 18 months and the many residence permits granted to Libyan citizens through corruption.
