Late to the party, Muscat orders a “security review”
Joseph Muscat has ordered a “security review” in the run-up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which takes place in less than two weeks.
He cannot possibly be serious.
Almost his first act on getting in to government was to remove Police Commissioner John Rizzo – or to allow his Police Minister Manuel Mallia to remove him, which amounts to the same thing – and have him replaced by the useless Peter Paul Zammit followed by the corrupt Ray Zammit. What exactly did that do to the police force?
He also allowed his army minister – the very same Manuel Mallia – to wreck the army, with his full support and with his family friend Jeffrey Curmi made Instant Brigadier.
And Muscat crowned all that by putting his family friend Phyllis Muscat, an importer and distributor of Mary Cohr and Guinot cosmetics, in charge of things for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
And let’s not forget that the first appointed head of CHOGM security was Kurt Cini, a 33-year-old real estate developer and speculator, and a Labour Party activist who helped out during the campaign, who knows jack about security (just like Phyllis Muscat knows jack about organising big international government meetings).
