These two stories are clearly linked

There are two reports in Times of Malta today which are clearly connected, though no such connection has been made.

This one about the old indoor market and this one about shop-owners’ anger at how the street market is going to be moved further up Merchants Street.

Right now, the street market is just outside the indoor market. That is an obvious place for them to be. But once the indoor market is smartened up and begins operating as a going concern, the operators will not want the stalls cluttering up the entrance and approach and giving the place a shabby image.

I don’t think, somehow, that it’s only a matter of compensating the stall-holders for reneging on the promise to allow them to set up permanently around Parliament House.
