A journalist’s intuition is a useful thing

I wrote this post two months ago. Now Etihad has released a statement saying that all talk about its buying a stake in Air Malta is just so much rubbish, despite the Maltese government’s claims that it is in negotiation with Etihad.
The Malta Independent had followed up on my blog-post and spoke to Edward Zammit Lewis, who was spectacularly cagey as usual.
I also discovered later (and reported on it) that the Maria Micallef mentioned below was not the chairman of Air Malta but a partner at RSM Malta, who has been tasked with negotiating the sale of a stake in Air Malta on behalf of the Maltese government.
