Konrad Mizzi put his Blackheath house on the market last September
This information is salient to the current debate, so even though it’s included in my previous post, I think it needs to be highlighted in a separate post of its own.
Konrad and Sai Mizzi put their Blackheath end-of-terrace house on the market last September. See the listing here. This means that after Mizzi set up the company in Panama and the trust in New Zealand which he claimed – when caught out by the revelations last February – he needed/wanted to hold his “house in London”, he tried to sell that house and is still trying to sell it because it remains listed with Right Move.
And that’s apart from the fact that nobody, but nobody, sets up a complicated, expensive and politically risky company in Panama and trust in New Zealand to hold a depressing redbrick new-build end-of-terrace in Blackheath, way off the tube-line in the Greater London Area, which they bought for £365,000.
And that’s another point: Konrad and Sai Mizzi paid those £365,000 cash down for the house in 2010 when they were just 32. RegisterSGL425621 He wasn’t in politics at the time and she wasn’t a delegate of the Maltese government – in other words, they were not yet PEPs – but questions still have to be asked about that, and answered. Buying it with a loan is fine – they were both working at the time. But cash down? I don’t think so.
