Carmen Ciantar to leave ARMS for Foundation for Medical Services
Carmen Ciantar will be leaving her position as CEO of ARMS Ltd, the government’s utilities billing agency, at the end of the month, and taking up a new position as CEO of the Foundation for Medical Services, which is falls under the responsibility of the Health Ministry. These are some of the projects which the Foundation oversees.
She told this website: “I was offered the opportunity of moving from ARMS to the Foundation for Medical Services, and after thinking hard about it, I decided that I would take it on.”
Ms Ciantar will be the third CEO in two years. Brian St John stepped down from that post in June 2014 when his contract expired and was not renewed by incoming Health Minister Konrad Mizzi. Shortly afterwards, he took up a position as CEO of the Nationalist Party’s print and broadcast media. He was replaced by James Camenzuli.
Ms Ciantar married Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, Malta Council for Science and Technology executive chairman, in the summer of 2012 after a 10-year relationship, following the enactment of divorce legislation. It was the second marriage for both of them, but lasted just one year, breaking down when he started an illicit relationship with his personal assistant at the Council, Lara Boffa. Ms Ciantar has since petitioned the Courts of Justice to have the marriage declared null.
