Why is the Prime Minister’s Office answering for a tanker that the government doesn’t own?

The Maltese government does not own the LNK tanker that will be berthed at Delimara, nor is the government the contracting or leasing party.

That LNG tanker is the responsibility of Electrogas Malta Ltd, and it is up to that company to speak for it and give explanations.

When the Nationalist Party gave a press conference yesterday saying that something must be wrong because the tanker is in and out of Delimara (it was in full view of bathers at Ghajn Tuffieha a few days ago), it was not Electrogas Malta Ltd which responded but the Prime Minister’s Office which released a statement a day later.
