Despite claiming to be part of the Remain campaign in the run-up to the June referendum, Theresa May didn’t go out of her way to communicate to the British public the advantages of remaining in the European Union. She barely spoke at all, and when she did, it was half-heartedly.

Now recordings have been leaked – see the report in The Guardian – of a speech she gave to investment bankers ahead of the referendum. She is unequivocal of the dangers to the British economy of leaving the European Union.
