Mizzi stooge tweets: “Konrad Mizzi is going to provide clean energy for all Europeans”
Did you know that Malta has something called The Water and Energy Agency, and that is has a chief executive officer? No, I didn’t, either. It’s been remarkably low-profile in the endless debates about water and energy.
This is what the Water and Energy Agency does, and it’s part of the Office of the Prime Minister.
I was fascinated by an embarrassingly idiotic tweet (see below) which announced that Konrad Mizzi is “ready to take on the baton to give clean energy to all Europeans”. The only thing he is doing with that baton, quite frankly, is shafting his country and the electorate.
It was tweeted by one Daniel Azzopardi who, on further investigation of his Twitter account, has been tweeting in rabid admiration of the Panama minister and his initiatives: videos, photographs, fan-club press releases, the works. He bills himself on Twitter as ‘Water and Energy Agency CEO’.
What? I popped over to LinkedIn. Azzopardi, at the age of 31, was made CEO of this ‘Water and Energy Agency’ back in January, a few brief weeks before the Panama storm broke over his hero’s head. Before that, he pushed papers at a minor desk job at Malta’s permanent representation in Brussels, for seven years, straight out of the University of Sussex.
And he left Brussels last August, which means that he was permitted to remote-control his ‘water and energy agency’ CEO job in Malta from that city for the first eight months, until it was convenient for him to load up a container lorry and leave.
Who is this Daniel Azzopardi, what is the water and energy agency, and why did they install him there? There is always a reason with the Triad, and as you can see, Azzopardi – shabby, 31, with a degree from the kind of university you go to when the better universities won’t take you, and a work record comprised solely of pushing papers at the same desk at Malta’s permanent representation in Brussels and nothing else – is hardly CEO material. There’s something going on there.
