He doesn’t do his job, then turns green when others do

Look at this guy. I mean, really: a journalist attacking other journalists for doing the job he has failed to do himself. A journalist who, instead of chasing stories which involve government politicians, chases the journalists who do. Whose side is he on? Chris Cardona’s, obviously.

Working for him must be really tough. His staff are probably dying to sink their teeth into a fantastic story like this – a journalist’s dream – and instead they have to contend with him. It’s bad enough that they can’t go anywhere near Keith Schembri or Adrian Hillman, and it was ages before they were able to cover the Panama companies and Konrad Mizzi with anything approaching credibility.

Balzan doesn’t understand how badly he’s coming across, obsessively vomiting all over other journalists and rushing to protect the politicians they criticise or investigate.

Three points here: 1. those prostitutes said “Yes” when shown photographs of Chris Cardona and Joe Gerada and asked whether they had seen them there; 2. one of them actually said, “Yes, but not today”; and 3. Mario Frendo also showed them a photograph of a third (anonymous) man as a ‘control’, and asked them whether they’d seen him – and they said no.
