Muscat said holiday plans were postponed when wife’s mother died – but they went to New York
When the Prime Minister was challenged by journalists, who waited for him outside a building, on the matter of his ridiculously expensive six days in Dubai last Easter, he gave a litany of excuses, saying that their special anniversary holiday plans had been a long time coming but had to be postponed for various reasons, including the death of his mother-in-law.
He sounded to me like he was lying, and today I suddenly remembered one of the reasons why. Mrs Muscat’s mother’s death did not upset their travel plans at all. In fact, just a few days after Mrs Tanti died, her daughter went off on a jaunt to New York, taking her children out of school for the purpose, to join her husband the Prime Minister and Luciano Busuttil, who were there for the United Nations General Assembly.
