This story is a complete lie, and I will file a libel suit for damages this week

This story in the Labour Party’s official newspaper, KullHadd, is a complete lie from start to finish, and I will file for libel this week.

This is not a matter of opinion, but a matter of fact. It is not a story based on what the Labour Party thinks about me, but a story built up entirely on lies presented as facts.

It says here that my husband and I were guests to tea at a house in Zebbug where the Opposition leader and his girlfriend were among the other guests. The story then goes on to describe how I began speaking against Mario Demarco, how I spoke “possessively” to the Opposition leader, and how Busuttil put up no defence of Demarco when I said all those things against him.

Not only did none of that occur, but I wasn’t even at the party. I was invited – the hostess is a close friend – but I couldn’t accept because I was working and had a tight deadline to meet.

It’s obvious what happened here. The people at Labour HQ assumed I would be there – because apparently they are now so obsessed that they even fixate on where I go for tea; I suggest that they collectively seek help from a psychiatrist because it has, seriously, gone beyond a joke – and built their entire fictitious story on that assumption, and printed it.

But now it’s all blown up in their faces and they’re facing a libel suit without a leg to stand on, because I wasn’t there at all, let alone there and behaving as they ‘report’.

Can they sink any further, I wonder. Desperate people, desperate measures. Note to the Labour Party: next time I take tea at a friend’s, I’ll be sure to let you know so that you don’t make complete asses of yourselves again.

We’ve got some pretty sick people running the country right now.
