Though it is extremely difficult to restrain myself from commenting about this, I will stick to the bare facts, and let you deduce for yourself why Saviour Balzan, 50% owner of the newspapers Malta Today and Illum, and producer/host of the TVM interview show XTra, never even mentions the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, the corrupt accountant Brian Tonna and their cohort Adrian Hillman, even though they are central to a series of major scandals.

This website broke the Egrant Inc/Michelle Muscat story last Thursday evening. The story was explosive, keeping people glued to their television sets and internet late into the night as it was picked up by other media.

That night, the Prime Minister’s chief of staff rang Saviour Balzan at around 1am and they spoke for 10 minutes. Then on Saturday morning, which is his Sunday newspaper’s big production day, Balzan rang the Prime Minister’s chief of staff at around 10am and spoke to him for a few seconds. He rang Keith Schembri again later that day, at 5.30pm, and this time they had a protracted 20-minute conversation.

They are quite obviously serene – the new buzzword – in the knowledge that their phones are not tapped by the Malta Government Security Service, because they did not use WhatsApp.
