Parliamentary Secretary for Animal Rights throws campaign party at estate with illegal zoo

Roderick Galdes, the Parliamentary Secretary for Animal Rights, is to throw a campaign party at the Montekristo Estate, the location of an illegal zoo where animals are ill-treated and confined to tiny cages. Around 18 months ago, a boy at the zoo was mauled by a tiger being led around on a leash, and another zoo visitor photographed lions mauling a donkey to the horror of those who looked on.

The zoo, which was illegal and unlicensed but operating with complete impunity despite half-hearted enforcement notices, was closed to the public by its owner, Charles ‘Caqnu’ Polidano, after the boy was mauled, but it remains there still, its animals confined in squalor.
