Like Konrad Mizzi, Adrian Delia is talking about “an audit”

And like Konrad Mizzi, he is deliberately deceitful in manipulating people’s general ignorance about these matters. So just to set the matter straight: auditors are not forensic investigators working for the state under a warrant or as authorised by law, which gives them right of access to any papers or documents and the ability to search – even against the person’s will – bank records and computerised data.

Nor are auditors forensic accountants working for somebody who has hired them to investigate Adrian Delia’s financial affairs, as sometimes happens in bad cases of divorce or a bust-up between business partners.

Auditors are people you hire and pay to audit the books and papers you give them to work with. In other words, an audit commissioned by Adrian Delia into his own affairs is utterly worthless, just as Konrad Mizzi’s was.

And with both of them, we don’t know what’s worse: their concealed activities, or the fact that they so brazenly manipulate and lie to their audience to save their own lizard-skin.

What sort of person would have a campaign manager like this?
