The Nationalist Party is asking you to unite behind a leader who its own Ethics Committee has ruled unfit for purpose
The Nationalist Party’s TV and radio station last night and this morning appealed for “unity” and for supporters to unite behind whoever is elected leader on 16th September.
Yes, they are asking you to unite behind a leader who their own Ethics Committee ruled unfit for purpose as being unable to give satisfactory explanations for his offshore bank account in Jersey and the purpose for which it was used.
They are asking you to unite behind a leader when their own Administrative Council politely asked him, unanimously, to withdraw from the race. That Administrative Council included the duplicitous Jean Pierre Debono, who put his name to the council decision, advised Adrian Delia to ignore it, and was this morning out and about parading with Delia and both their wives.
Yes, the Nationalist Party is now asking you to unite behind a leader and to ignore the fact that he had an offshore bank account in Jersey, which he lied about to the party, the press and the public, which was used to launder money for a prostitution racket. We should ignore this and unite behind him because party supporters should behave like mindless and unprincipled mobsters out for gain and victory.
So no thank you. They can unite behind the money-launderer for a prostitution racket themselves, and leave the rest of us out of it. I did not fight the Labour Party on issues of such gravity only to unite behind Adrian Delia.
I shall continue to investigate Adrian Delia and anybody who unites behind him (and anyone else who should be investigated, whether they support Delia or not). Those who support Adrian Delia are by definition questionable in themselves. To support somebody so amoral, you have got to be amoral yourself. And that means you are up to no good.
