Ramona Frendo: appointed to the Justice Reform Commission

Published: March 25, 2013 at 9:50am

I bet they’re really scratching their heads to work out what to give to Kevin Drake, Frederick Testa, Albert Gauci Cunningham and Willie Mangion.

Gladiatorial contest between Anglu Farrugia and Mugliett for Speaker, perhaps? With Jason Micallef as appointee to that post?

    • MojoMalti says:

Isn’t Joseph Muscat going to dismantle MEPA and replace it with something else? Well, there you go. That’s Jesmond Mugliett right there.

    • P Shaw says:

I knew Bernard Vassallo as a Laburist, at least 17 years ago. He rarely spoke about politics and was passionate about sports.

      • TINA says:

        IT’S TRUE

      • Plotinus says:

Even if he is still a Laburist, the Great Leader needed an opening for yet another Super One employee.
By doing this he also created another vacancy at Super One so another promise may be fulfilled.

    Gvern tal-‘wannabes’

On compassionate grounds or advertizing space?

  3. J Farrugia says:

An article about this would be very interesting:

They have worked and worked against him but still got elected.

      Comment below piece.

‘Il-grazzi talli accettajna fil-moviment lil kulhadd biex ninqalghu l barra. Prosit lil min rikeb fil-vapur taghna lkoll biex idawwar lil ohrajn u ahna nibqghu fl-istiva.’

      Dum de dum.

    MEPA for Mugliett….

  5. Beauty and the Beef says:

    Exactly my thoughts.

While the appointments of Judge Bonello and Professor Aquilina are to be commended, this appointment yet again smacked of Joseph needing to please someone.

Note that I didn’t mention Judge Philip Sciberras with the above trio, simply because I’m not too sure what to make of that. As far as I know, he’s a staunch Labourite but I don’t recall him being part of the past electoral campaign or sucking up to Joseph in any way (unlike David Farrugia Sacco and his father, of course).

  6. taxxu says:

Willie Mangion, chairperson tal-Ghaqda Kantanti Skaduti with Renato as his bewigged deputy.

U lil Saviour Balzan hallejtu barra?

    • P Shaw says:

Studio Seven are already advertising to recruit people in the audio-visual section given that they (including Media Today) expect to take over key slots in the PBS schedule this autumn.

      • Just Jack (JJ) says:

I don’t think so. a couple of months ago Amanda Ciappara took the PR role at Studio Seven. and right now, pathetic programmes on Favourite filmed at Studio Seven have already got a promotion on to Net TV. Ma naf jien … imma b’dir-rata ta’ programmi fuq in-Net jista’ jzarma …

  8. Aw gorgjas says:

That works out at 50 euros a night. Hardly the stuff to make headlines.

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

That’s still more than most of us get.

      • ciccio says:

At Albert Town, they earn 50 euros an hour. Ask Charlon.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

And that’s the Arabo-Maltese ones who look like pregnant walruses. The fit ones can earn 200 Euro. The really fit ones can top that without even taking their kit off.

If you ever want a career move, Ciccio, get in touch. I could make you rich.

      • ta'sapienza says:

Really fit as in taking off with Charlon’s wallet? Catch me if you can.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

Yep. Hard to catch up when your trousers are round your ankles.

    • La Redoute says:

It works out at EUR90,000 over five years.

    • AE says:

      It’s not a full-time job.

Now had they appointed Bocca I would have believed the meritokrazija spiel.

Mhux min taf eh Ramona? What bollocks.

    • Denis the menace says:

Nicely collated. Someone should fund a full page ad, using it as copy, on The Malta Independent (of course). I’ll contribute a hundred euros and so will my mates. Then the switchers can read it, roll the whole newspaper and stuff it up their jumpa.

  9. Weird no ? says:

No it has been sorted for Willie Mangion…composer of new national anthem of the 2nd Republic.

Is this a Joseph ploy to create yet another Ministry ? Ministeru tal-Affarijiet Estraterresti,

  12. Paul says:

Does anyone feel like we are coming to a point where we’re at the voting stage at the final night of the Eurovision? Where everyone can already guess who is getting the 12 points from whom?

So now the Ministers are done and dusted, Transport Malta and Malta Enterprise CEOs done too.

Now we can go onto Chairman of Air Malta (pretty obvious), PBS (again very obvious), Commissioner of Police (extremely obvious – almost in the territory of the Eurovision 12 points from Germany to Turkey), etc etc

Ghax Malta taghna lkoll, of course.

  13. ciccio says:

She was on TVHemm last week. She had so much make-up on, I had to wipe the screen when Ruth Amaira came on with the 8.00pm news.

  14. old-timer says:

Have no doubt – in the long (short) run Kevin Drake and the rest will all be rewarded. That is PL policy. They do not abandon their faithful – and I totally agree.
