Two of our brand-new MEPs, Marlene Mizzi (Labour) and Claudette Abela Baldacchino (Labour) hadn’t a clue what Objective One status is and ended up looking like idiots when asked, at a business seminar organised by the European Parliament office and the Malta Business Bureau, what Malta must do to better safeguard its Objective One status.
Both said that they couldn’t comment because they didn’t understand the question/subject.
Roberta Metsola (Nationalist), the other new MEP, rescued women’s reputation from more sarcastic remarks about cottonwool heads (from people who don’t register the Joseph Cuschieris of this world) by giving the proper answer.

It’s obvious to me that Marlene and Claudette contested for the MEP seats not because the have had a career in geopolitics but rather because they were attracted by the MEP’s annual salary of a quarter million euros plus many other generous benefits.
They think people are fools. How could they are not even embarrassed?
This is exactly what Labour mediocrity will bring Malta to its knees in short order.
This was predicted and expected well prior to March 9, yet the weak minded fell for Joseph’s bait.
Now all will enjoy the fruit of this rotten tree.
All mistook the alchemist’s concoction for pure gold and now all will find out that it was nothing but fool’s gold.
All they needed was to pay some attention to Dr. Gonzi who explained Objective 1 many times. Even the man in the street knows what is Objective1.

He cannot even hold a simple conversation in English. Now we have a new MEP which is facing criminal charges.

On another subject, the PL claimed that change will bring good governance.
Many of the officials of the Ministry of Health were brought from outside the Civil Service. Some of them were until recently unemployed.
How can they expect to set government policy and lead the Civil Service on health matters, when their knowledge of the Civil Service and/or health issues is close to zero? What management, medical or other qualifications do health ministry officials have?
Can anyone check please?

Radio 101 has reported that Renzo Piano’s building is not going to be used as a parliament after all.
This is not about disdain for art (though that too). This is not about contempt for democracy (though that also).
This is about spite. Spite for anything created by Lawrence Gonzi.
Economic crises, and most other problems, come and go but grand buildings tend to stand. The new parliament would have been Lawrence Gonzi’s lasting monument. Joseph Muscat couldn’t have that, could he? He could never bring himself to inaugurate Lawrence Gonzi’s brainchild.
Joseph Muscat’s idea of winning is destroying anything that came before. It is about, literally, rewriting the rulebook, hence the rewriting of the constitution.
Like all dictators, he thinks of himself as a revolutionary. Joseph Muscat is Gaddafi all over again changing the flag and writing his Green Book.
The only difference is that Joseph Muscat is wily enough to use elements of democracy, like elections and referenda, to get his changes through. Joseph Muscat knows which elements of democracy are useful for his wicked designs and which elements are to be ignored or discarded. For Joseph Muscat, democracy is not an end in itself but one of the ways which he can use to manipulate people and outcomes.
The Nationalist Party needs to be as strong and united as ever in order to keep this government in check.

Let me see wether I understand the reasoning behind all this:
There is no space for more offices for the ministers in the new parliament, we’re told.
But there’s enough space for a Mintoff Museum!
Where are the offices which the ministers have in the present parliament.
Are we going to spend €85million for a museum dedicated to a politician, instead of filling up the present parliamentary chamber and offices with another tourist attraction of the knights’ period ?
How many tourists would a Mintoff museum attract and how many would a better showcase of the knight’s period attract?
I hope this is some misquotation and that the public library gets its transfer to the floor level of this magnificent building instead of having a political museum.
The speaker will chair a committee on how this building will be used, I hope this won’t be like when the delegates voted for PL’s new emblem.
