Exactly how many of those predominantly male Labour politicians have young children and wives who work?

Women and the occasional man are flying in to the Foundation for Educational Services Facebook page to let rip about the 11th-hour postponement of the start of summer school services.

This is not a problem with which, say, Manuel Mallia is going to sympathise. He has young children but even though his wife doesn’t work and seems to spend half her time parking and re-parking her Mini outside their home overlooking Hastings in Valletta, or sitting in it and texting, they have nannies who run about with the children all day.

Konrad Mizzi won’t sympathise either. He has young children and a wife who – very famously – is supposed to be working for Malta Enterprise, but wife and children are living in China in the lap of luxury that her Top Secret Malta Government contract can buy there.

The problem won’t register on the prime minister’s consciousness, either. He has young children, but his wife doesn’t work, and she also has a full-time chauffeur, besides living in a house built in her in-laws’ garden, which means that they are in residence 24/7.

Will Edward Zammit Lewis sympathise? Unlikely. His wife barely feels the need to work nowadays, and they have just the one child.

I could go on, but I shan’t. I could tell you, for example, about the other Labour cabinet ministers and backbenchers who won’t be sympathising any time soon because their children are in their 40s and when those children were tots, a woman’s place was in the kitchen and washing nappies by hand (the towelling variety).

Here are some comments. For more, go straight to the Foundation for Educational Services Facebook page.

Ah Chris Apap, who once saw fit to declare on Facebook that you, Daphne, should not be “allowed” to write the way you do. And now he’s almost starring on your page. He must really be pleased.

Violet Darmanin should be immediantly promoted or something, just listen to her!

Instead of moaning on FB, these parents should band together and file a class action lawsuit, citing anything from loss of earnings, stress to themselves and their children etc.

I’m sure that Joseph Muscat would appreciate it and be sympathetic to their cause, as after all, wasn’t his party involved in a class action suit not too many aeons ago?

I am under the impression that Konrad Mizzi’s wife thinks that Malta is a real shithole and that is the reason that she fucked off back to China.

She obviously feels that the quality of life in China is better, leaving Konrad to feed off pastizzi and rich creamy TV dinners. Look at the guy’s fat belly and big neck. One year on, and he’s already a fat slob.

Same theory as Karmenu “Il-Gay” (ooops, sorry, wrong vowel) Vella pisses off to the European Commission and has his thick clueless daughter-in-law and his “bil-haqq, what is his son going to do in Brussels” hang about and enjoy the quality of life, daddy’s chauffeur, breakfast, lunch and dinner at dad’s every day in his lovely EU commissioner house.
