I don’t feel sorry for both of them, they actually deserve each other in “hell is other people” sort of way.

The way things are unfolding it is becoming fairly obvious that Dalli has become the proverbial albatross round Muscat’s neck.

The bad news is that there are lot of idiots going around

  5. minny says:

it is very possible that Dalli was framed. we cannot believe all that is being said against him especially from people who may have had their reasons to get rid of him or who may not like him. this very week we have heard that the European ombudsman announced it had launched an investigation into allegedly “undisclosed” meetings between top EU officials and the tobacco industry. so these things happen all the time. just because Dalli seemed to have had 2 meetings with the tobacco industry does not mean that he was bribed or that he agreed to favour them in any way. God only knows what really happened during the meeting between Dalli and Barroso!!

[Daphne – if John Dalli was framed, Minny, then it is obvious that the only person who could have framed him was Silvio Zammit. John Dalli was forced to resign because of nothing other than the fact that Silvio Zammit was brokering meetings for him with tobacco industry lobbyists, and those meetings did not take place in Brussels. Clearly, you have not read Barroso’s statement on the reasons why Dalli’s position was untenable. No mention of bribes at all – just that Dalli admitted to Barroso that his bar-owner friend had brokered meetings for him outside Brussels, with lobbyists from the tobacco companies.]

  6. Joseph Ellul-Grech says:

I have been accusing John Dalli of framing me for many years. Successive police commissioners have ignored my requests to investigate my allegations.

In November 2010 when disgraced and corrupt former EU Commissioner John Dalli was appointed Commissioner, I published an open letter online to President Jose’ Manuel Barroso. My request was overlooked.

John Dalli should have never been appointed Commissioner. He brought the Commission and Malta’s name into disrepute. His arrogance, bullying and warped mind knows no limits.

Did you send your letter to Lawrence ‘best PM ever’?

Did you send your letter to Lawrence ‘best PM ever’ Gonzi?

      • Joseph Ellul-Grech says:

Yes, I did write an open letter to Dr. Lawrence Gonzi and it was published in the Times of Malta and The Malta Independent. I also published it online. However, my request was ignored. I had also written to Dr. Fenech Adami when he was PM. I had asked him to investigate John Dalli’s involvement in the Daewoo Scandal. My request was ignored.

In REVENGE John Dalli framed me. He had every reason to because he received a backhander of €1.3 million from Daewoo (evidence available to support my allegations). He also received a Daewoo Espero in white chassis no. KLAJF19V1SB59739096 registered in his wife’s name and a Daewoo Cielo chassis no. KLATF19Y1SB598856 registered in his eldest daughter’s name.

The total monetary value of the backhander including the consultancy fee he used to receive comes to approximately €1.9 million. That is the same amount he is claiming in his current proceedings at the ECJ.

Over the years I also wrote to former police commissioners George Grech and John Rizzo. I also wrote three open letters to former police commissioner Peter Paul Zammit. These were sent to all the major newspapers as well but they failed to publish them. Peter Paul Zammit failed to investigate too.

It is obvious that despite the warnings I have been sending to the authorities over the years they fell on deaf ears. At the same time the authorities continued to treat me with contempt, discrimination and breaching my human and civil rights time and again.

If you Google my name or John Dalli’s you will find many blogs published by me over the years. He has never denied the allegations contained in them and neither has he sued me over them.

I do not make allegations against anyone unless I have evidence to support them.

I am glad Barroso has said this publicly.

There are others, less visible, to whom the same is being done.
