They’ve found a use for the Gozo Library: fashion shows
Somebody called Carmelino Refalo has held a fashion show at the Public Library in Gozo, with a catwalk down through the main reading room and models and guests treating the books as a sort of attractive backdrop to the far more interesting business of watching ordinary-looking girls walk in shop-bought clothes.
Books, who needs them? They’re wallpaper. The Gozo Library is a ‘location’. And allowing people to run around with full and supervised access to precious tomes is fine – that’s assuming they know they’re precious in the first place.
But anybody interested in adding to his antiquarian collection would have simply bought a ticket and suffered through the show, waiting for his chance.
Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt – maybe security staff searched all those large handbags thoroughly on the way out.
