PANAMAGATE: You know it’s over for them when the wild and crazy lies begin

L-Orizzont has published a story this morning claiming that an unnamed businessman who was unsuccessful in bidding for the power station contract “bought the information” about Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri and passed it on to the Nationalist Party who in turn passed it on to me to begin my “attacks”.

You will notice that this slanderous and mad assertion also serves the double purpose of painting me as a mouthpiece for the Nationalist Party rather than as a journalist who broke a story.

Excuse my language here, but nothing else will suffice in this ridiculous situation: TOTAL BOLLOCKS. Why don’t these CNUTS just go and FCUK themselves.

The Nationalist Party didn’t have a clue about this story until I broke it last week. In fact, the Nationalist Party was at first reluctant to believe it which is why they were slow to react at first. It was only when it became obvious that I was reporting facts with confidence that they did what any responsible Opposition would do and began to speak about the scandal.

A businessman who didn’t get what he wants “bought the information”? Really – who from, Panama? Brian Tonna? Grow up. These wild accusations only make the Labour Party look even more guilty as they lash out crazily.

It is impossible to buy information like this. So work out the rest for yourself. Besides which, how I got the information is irrelevant. What counts is the information itself. The fact remains that I found out the prime minister’s chief of staff and his favourite minister and deputy leader both opened companies in Panama and trusts in New Zealand in concert with each other, using Brian Tonna, and that the process coincided with the negotiations with Baku.

However, these asset-concealing structures, once open and totally secret, could be used for the receipt of bribes, kickbacks and backhanders in any other contract or deal and need not be restricted to Azerbaijan.

Give up. It’s over. Big-time.
