Central Bank deputy governor’s ‘secret’ girlfriend joins the fray on Facebook
You know, I sometimes wonder what on earth these men must be thinking – 66 and still putting it about. Then one day not too far down the line they wake up alone in an old people’s home with nobody to visit them and strangers wiping their drool and changing their diapers, and if they are still sentient enough to wonder what went wrong, they actually feel hard done by.
I also wonder about the women who set themselves up for a fall, thinking that they are The One when they are just The Next One.
And men in public life in Malta just can’t seem to understand that integrity in their personal life is a big part of how they are perceived, and that it reflects on their public role. Should the deputy governor of a central bank in the Eurozone be sneaking around like this, leading a double life, cheating and lying, one bunch of roses on the back seat of his car, another bunch of roses in his arms outside the car?
Any man of 66 would be ridiculous in this situation, let alone somebody designated to take over the role of governor of the Central Bank and who is already deputy governor, with his ‘secret’ girlfriend targeting the mother of his children on Facebook while he publishes personal correspondence she sent him (very chivalrous and gallant, I must say).
It is typical of the mentality of these sorts of people – the Justice Minister and Janice Bartolo are another two – that the “forces of evil” and “hate” are not those who sneak around and cheat, break up homes and shatter the lives of children and families but those who object to having their homes and families shattered.
